Overview:
I have vast experience for having run many projects from the ground up, as well as taking over many projects at complex junctures by being a problem based learner and always getting on top of a job by leading, managing and developing procedures & standards prospicient & pragmatically. Having supervised and managed many variety of projects & Contracts and supporting a variety of facilities, including providing a team for cabling Argus/State rail network Comms racks and personally commissioning some 301 plus railway stations CCTV & Help points systems. Leading by example with hands on experience that encompassed maintenance of RTA traffic cameras , M5 CCTV system, installations in RTA offices, many Corrective Services sites, various IBM sites and casinos, 1st Aust. Aviation satellite comms link and other Communications projects. With over 25 years of experience in supervising in a team environment, delivering and installing, commissioning and providing on going support for many new technology systems and brands like TCN9, GrassValley, SeaPhone, Pacom & Pelco & NEC. Providing support liaising and managing through complex issues by assessing system Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. I naturally am always analysing and thinking outside the box always looking at staff, product & system development opportunities. Employment History
1997 - Current ; TechQuality Enterprises P/L Technical Services Director
Duties: Design, Quote, Sell, Manage, Install, Commission, Audit and Maintain various Security and Electronics & AV systems having worked at most of the Corrective services sites in NSW, most Citylink stations NSW Railcorp CCTV and Help point project and Power House Museum CCTV, maintaining long term sales and support relations with some clubs and IBM Aust.
Major Achievements: Longbay Corrective services CCTV commissioning and networking of 5 sites, RailCorp Auditing & commissioning 301 Railway stations CCTV project (~$90M+) and Railcorp Help point Projects (CCTV and Communication ~$55M). This involved Factory & Site Acceptance Tests ( Fat & SAT) , commissioning each site and liaising with various contractors and the Client ensuring high standards whilst ensuring against any budget blowout. I now often find myself managing contractors, consulting, maintaining and providing forward plans for my clients.
July 1994 -1997 ; Pacific Communications, Engineering Support Manager
Duties: Support Engineering staff in all states as well as NZ and Singapore, Project Manage CCTV systems such as Brisbane Casino and various other Projects. Also during an interim period I managed Production manager as I oversaw existing production runs as well as overseeing the phasing out of internal manufacturing. I also tested and assessed viability of new product lines.
Major Achievements: Brisbane casino 400+ cameras and recorders, running training courses in Sydney Brisbane and Singapore, as well as taking over project management such as NRMA microwave link & the National Crime Authority IT & surveillance project. In the NCA project I analysed and tested product designs,documentation and ensured contract Specifications were met. Another achievement was ensuring an improvement in quality of the company's product manuals.
April 1989-1994; Pacific Communications, Senior Technician then Technical Services Supervisor
Duties: Supervise and Manage Service Technicians and provide maintenance for major clients and sites such as Sydney cricket ground, Corrective services, Melb, Bris, Gold Coast, Canberra, Townsville and Christmas Island Casinos, ANSTO , NSW State Rail and Govt House,Parliament House, NRMA, IBM. Also putting together proposals to meet technical requirements, providing documentation, procedures and work instructions whilst liaising with all stakeholders.
Major Achievements: Effecting Product improvements and safety changes from national and international OEMS. Helping close projects such as Lithgow Corrective services CCTV, SCG, Parliament House & Brisbane Casino CCTV Project.
April 1988- 1989 ; Heyden Spike Senior Data Technician & Assist Service Manager
Duties:Providing Installation, Service & Support for Trunk radio and SeaCall systems & various mobile radio and data systems.
Major Achievements: Built and installed in Rosebud Vic the 1st on time and on budget OTC Seacall Phone system after an original prototype site (Sydney) followed by Adelaide, Bribie Island followed by implementing modifications for Sydney.
Nov 1987-1988 ; TCN Channel nine RF Engineering Technician
Duties: Maintained RF & News gathering Equipment.
Major achievements: Setup & involved in 1988 State elections the BiCentenary Australia Live telecast Simulcast and carried out critical communication link & News gathering equipment repairs.
1981 -87 ; Dept of Aviation Radio Technical Officer Act Grade 2 ( Commenced final stages of Radio Trainee ship )
Duties: initially as a trainee after 2 years I held supervisory responsibility of my 1st communications installations.
Major Achievements; Taking over supervisor role on my 1st project to put it on track and receiving un-prompted
commendation and references. Having gained a reputation for successful planning and the implementation of many Installation projects.The last project involved was the installations of the 1st Air ground Air Comms link via Satellite, followed by promotion to Head office where I managed projects and liaised between Engineering and installations team supporting project managing and mentoring Technical installation teams through a roll out of many satellite Communication Link installations.
